We Believe in God
We believe that there is a God in Heaven who is our loving Father. He has a plan for us to be happy, both in this life, and in the life to come. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to live a perfect, sinless life, and to atone for our sins and imperfections. We believe that Jesus Christ suffered in the garden, was crucified, died, and that He literally rose again from the dead. Through His matchless atonement, we know that every man woman and child who has ever lived on this earth will live again. As we come unto Christ, we, through His merits, mercy, and grace, can be made perfect, and become like Him.
We believe the Bible to be the word of God. We believe that God has called prophets throughout history to teach us how to become like Him, and how to apply the power of the atonement in our daily lives. We believe that the heavens are open, and that God speaks to prophets in our day who give us divinely inspired counsel and direction. God also speaks to us personaly through the Holy Spirit. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and stands, with the Bible, as another testament that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that all who come unto Him will find peace and joy in this life, and eternal life in the world to come.
We believe that God called Joseph Smith, in 1830, as a prophet just as He called prophets in biblical times. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God on earth today. We believe in living prophets and apostles. They speak to us, and give us the direction that we need to navigate the storms of life. The priesthood authority of God has been restored to Joseph Smith, and the power of the priesthood is real. We believe that family is an essential part of God’s plan, and that families can be sealed together forever in holy temples, not only for time, but into the eternities.
We believe that the earth, and all life, was created so that men and women, the spirit children of God, might have joy. We strive to follow the example of the Savior in spreading his light, in doing good, and in blessing the lives of those around us. We are not perfect, but through our efforts to emulate to Son of God, and through the power of His atonement, we believe that God can work through us to bless the lives of many. We hope that this site, in some small way, can help spread the light and joy of Christ as we strive to build families and friendships through the sharing of memories, pictures, videos, and those things that are important to us.
