Provo River Trip
Kyle, Carla, Scottie, Amanda, Marti, and I had a wonderful afternoon, on Saturday August 12 2006, floating down the Provo River in inner-tubes. The sun was warm, the water was cold, and we set out with our little inner-tube cooler to have a fun time on the river. We had great adventures. The truck-drive up to the launching spot was an adventure in and of itself. We had some close-encounters with bushes and rocks along the side of the river, as well as getting separated from one another, and trying to reunite. There was a guy and his dog who jumped into the river with impecable timeing so as to get us as wet as they could. We all fell off our tubes into the river once each—and then there was Scottie who kept jumping in the river to save the day, which he did many times. Amid all of this we found ample time to converse with each other and to take a much needed break from school and other stresses. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. One of the funniest things that happend occured just as we passed the place we were supposed to get out of the river. A little boy yelled out to us, as we passed: "Start paddling so you can exit." For those who have never been inner-tubing, that is much easier said than done. :o) We all made it safe and sound in the end and enjoyed sandwitches and fruit as we warmed up in the sun. All in all I had a great time: the activity was good and the company was great. Here are some pictures taken by both Scottie and myself.
