Hiking the "Y"
Saturday February 17th dawned a beautiful clear day. As I walked to Kyle's to visit I felt uplifted by the beauty of the world around me. After eating lunch we decided to go for a hike. Scott and Scottie joined us as we headed up to hike the "Y". We drove the the base of the trail then began hiking up. The trail soon turned to mud, which was an added adventure in and of itself. This was Scottie's first time to the "Y" and that made it our hike a little more exciting. After reaching the "Y" we continued hiking along the trail the continues to go up the mountain. While climbing out on some rocks Scott found a deer leg. While hiking further up the trail for some pictures, Scottie decided to climb to the top of rock face instead of taking the trail to the top. While it was probably not the wisest move, I am grateful that we all returned home safely that night. We also got some fun pictures with the sun behind us, as it began to set.
I am so grateful for the friends I have. Kyle, Scott, and Scottie are such good friends to me. This little excursion helped me realize how different we are in many ways. We all do things that others of us would never do, our personalities vary in many respects, however, we get along, support one another, complement one another, and strengthen one another. I am grateful for these three friends, for the good times that we have, and for all that I learn from them. I'm glad that the day was beautiful and that the opportunity presented itself for me to spend a couple hours with such good friends as we hiked a mountain.
